Janice Gordon was born in 1936 in Houston, Texas, the United States, She belongs to a Christian family. She grew up with her parents and siblings in Houston city, She is a high school graduate and studied form a local high school in Texas.

Career

After completing her study, she started working in a local company and later she married her childhood lover Kenny Rogers. He is a famous American singer, record producer, actor, and also entrepreneur. He was born on 21 August 1938, HOUSTON, Texas, United States.

He was studied at George Washington junior high school and later he went to Jefferson Davis High School where he earns his graduate degree. He won a talent show at the Texan theatre in 1949 and at the same time he worked at Rice Hotel as a busboy.

After that he went to the University of Houston for hair study, he started his musical career at a very early age, but he began his recording career in the late 1950s, with a Houston-based group named the Scholars. His first released song was the Poor Little Doggie. In 1958 he released his most popular solo album That Crazy Feeling.

After that, he joined a new group with the famous American singer Bobby Doyle. Later he becomes a member of the folk ensemble, the New Christy minstrels in 1966. In the next year, Rogers and some other members of the New Christy Minstrels left the group and found a new group named The First Edition. His first major hit song Just Dropped In was released in 1967, with The First Edition.

Later in 1976, he left the First Edition, after that he signed a solo deal with United Artist Corporation. His first solo studio album Love Lifted Me was released in 1976, the album was charted on the Billboard list. In 1977 he released another single called Lucille and the single was listed on the top of the pop charts in 12 countries. The album was also reached the no one position on the Billboard Country Album chart.

In 1982 he released another hit album named Love Will Turn You Around, the title track of the album was picked the no 13 position on the Billboard Hot 100. After that, he worked with David foster and in 1983 and recording the top 10 hit Bob Seger Cover We Have Got Tonight. He also released a duet song with the Scottish singer Sheena Easton and the song was listed on the top 30 on the British charts.

Rogers was broke the 26-year-old records of Hank Snow of 2000 single in the 21st century. He was mainly popular with his country fans also charted with more than 120 hit singles across the various music genres. in 2004 he appeared in an episode of Reno 911.

He also appeared in a GEICO commercial in 2014. Kenny wrote a book named Luck or Something Like It the book is A Memoir about his ups and downs in his musical career and he released the book in October 2012.
